Today 5 Babies Will Be Diganosed

Posted by Jessica Singletary on November 24, 2008

Today almost 5 families in the United States alone will receive the devastating news that their unborn child will have to fight for its life. They have been diagnosed with a potentially fatal birth defect called a congenital diaphragmatic hernia. A congenital diaphragmatic hernia is where the diaphragm in development does not completely close in an unborn baby and organs migrate to the thorax which under normal circumstances is where the heart and developing lungs are located.

Huge Thanks!

Posted by Jessica Singletary on November 7, 2008

We wanted to take a minute and thank two very special people!

Gus Alvardo (Sofia’s grandfather)- He’s donated 10 gallons of paint to Parker’s House!

Roy Putnam (Seth’s grandfather) – Went up this week and did some work on Parker’s House!

It’s people like these two men that make our foundation successful and what it is today!  We cannot thank you both enough for your generosity!

Magazine’s For Parker’s House.

Posted by Jessica Singletary on November 4, 2008

Someone suggested to us that we get different magazine subscriptions for Parker’s House and I think it’s a great idea.  I’ve listed below some magazines that I think would be great for the families staying in Parker’s House.  If you are interested in ordering a year subscribtion of the magazines please click the link to each individual one and then notify me so that I can remove it from the list so we don’t have multiple copies.  And if you don’t see your favorite on the list order what you’d like.  The mailing address to Parker’s House is 5115 Dairyland Road, Hillsborough, NC 27278.
