New Hope For Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia

Welcome Alannah!

Posted by Jessica Singletary on November 7, 2009

Alannah Gracyn-Reese Cain  was born Tuesday, November 3rd @ 6:58 p.m. weighing 5 pounds and 12 ounces and 19 inches long. Mom, Lisa, said she’s was doing very well.  She had her repair surgery yesterday and are weaning her off of meds now. They are going to try and remove her off of the vent on Monday!  All was up but the liver and about an inch of colon. Her left lung was severely compromised but the right is full & strong.

Lisa said that she added Reese to her name in honor of her grandmother Ree and Parker!  What a tribute to Parker!!!  We are so happy to report that Alannah is holding her own.  We’ll keep you updated on her condition.  So far the family has no blog or carepage.

Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers!

Wow what a whirlwind! Alannah is doing great! My goal for 2010 is a blog and a picture of Alannah every day. We were discharged from NICU and home on Dec3. So its been a month of acclimating to life. I will post more later…I PROMISE!
